兩位美國(guó)歌手喬納森·巴可和席依達(dá)·蓋瑞特深情演唱美國(guó)作曲家昆西·瓊斯與華人音樂(lè)家譚盾專門共同為本屆世博會(huì)創(chuàng)作的主題歌《Better City,Better Life》。音樂(lè)從清新的水樂(lè)開始，鼓者有節(jié)奏地敲打著盆中的清水，既是一種獨(dú)特的打擊樂(lè)表現(xiàn)形式，又凸顯了人類文明與水的密切關(guān)系。接著，充滿爵士動(dòng)感的樂(lè)隊(duì)將在升降臺(tái)上緩緩升起，而來(lái)自拉美的舞者則表演著熱情奔放的舞蹈。兩位美國(guó)歌手傾情獻(xiàn)唱，表達(dá)著他們對(duì)上海世博會(huì)的祝福，獨(dú)特的音樂(lè)，魅力四射的舞臺(tái)表現(xiàn)，生動(dòng)詮釋“城市，讓生活更美好”的主題。
